This role sits at the core of state-level insurance performance analysis, supporting strategic decisions that directly influence profitability, pricing, and product competitiveness. You will work closely with State Product Managers to interpret financial results, monitor market trends, and generate data-driven recommendations that shape business strategy. The position requires strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. Operating in a highly collaborative environment, you will contribute to rate reviews, forecasting, and competitive analysis across multiple states. Your work will help ensure products remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with enterprise financial goals. Accountabilities
You will provide advanced analytical support to State Product Management, helping drive financial performance, pricing decisions, and market competitiveness through data-driven insights.
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial, pricing, and performance data to support state-level strategy and decision-making.
- Support rate revision processes, including analysis preparation, documentation, and participation in review meetings.
- Analyze monthly P&L statements and performance reports to identify trends, variances, and root causes.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as growth, loss ratio, retention, quoting activity, and conversion rates.
- Review competitor filings and market intelligence to identify opportunities and risks.
- Support forecasting and planning cycles, including quarterly state performance reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement state strategies and ensure execution alignment.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to State Managers and stakeholders.
- Handle ad hoc analytical requests and support ongoing business needs with timely insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in insurance, economics, finance, mathematics, business, or related field preferred.
- Approximately 3 years of experience in property & casualty insurance or a related analytical role.
- Strong understanding of insurance fundamentals, pricing concepts, and performance measurement techniques.
- Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and analytical tools for reporting and data interpretation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
- Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality outputs under deadlines.
- Exposure to CPCU, actuarial exams, or other insurance designations is a plus.
