Senior Software Development Engineer(Tech Lead)

You will join a high-impact engineering team building large-scale, distributed systems that power critical customer and platform experiences used by millions globally. In this role, you will act as a technical leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling highly available and fault-tolerant cloud-native systems. You will drive architecture decisions, lead complex backend initiatives, and contribute to greenfield development efforts in ambiguous and fast-evolving problem spaces. The environment is highly collaborative, with strong emphasis on ownership, innovation, and engineering excellence. You will also mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and help define best practices across multiple services. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will influence both system design and team execution in a fast-paced, cloud-first organization.

Accountabilities:

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant backend systems on AWS.
• Drive greenfield initiatives and complex engineering projects from concept through production deployment.
• Participate in and lead technical design discussions for cross-service architectures and platform capabilities.
• Build and maintain highly observable systems with strong monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing practices.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across multiple services and cloud environments.
• Evaluate and adopt modern technologies, including cloud services and AI-assisted engineering tools, to improve platform efficiency.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting best practices in system design, coding, and delivery.
• Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and technical grooming sessions.
• Ensure architectural decisions balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational simplicity.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, development workflows, and technical standards.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production-grade systems.
• Strong backend development expertise in Go, Python, or Node.js.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS, RDS/Aurora, and IAM.
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed, highly available, fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL/Aurora and MongoDB, including optimization and schema design.
• Experience implementing observability solutions using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations or LLM-powered capabilities in production systems or engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and engineering delivery practices.
• Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Frontend experience with React and exposure to performance testing tools are a plus.
