This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise analytics strategy within a complex, multi-market insurance organization. The position plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency, financial performance, and customer value across regional and national levels. Acting as a key partner to enterprise and local leadership, the Senior Director oversees analytics capabilities that support both strategic decision-making and day-to-day service delivery. This role combines deep technical expertise in insurance analytics with strong leadership across distributed teams and business units. It requires the ability to translate complex financial and actuarial data into clear recommendations that improve business outcomes. The environment is highly collaborative, matrixed, and focused on continuous improvement and scalable solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the enterprise analytics strategy for employee benefits, ensuring alignment with regional and national business objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership and local offices to identify analytical needs, operational gaps, and opportunities for performance improvement.
- Oversee the design and implementation of tools, processes, templates, and best practices to enhance service efficiency and consistency across markets.
- Manage and guide financial and analytical teams across multiple locations, ensuring effective staffing, workflow, and delivery of services.
- Serve as a subject matter expert providing advanced analytical insights and recommendations to customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives, including new business development, solution deployment, and integration of technology-enabled analytics tools.
- Lead training, mentoring, and capability-building efforts to elevate analytical expertise across the organization.
- Participate in leadership forums and contribute to strategic discussions shaping enterprise priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, actuarial science, or a related field; advanced technical or analytical expertise required.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in the insurance industry, with strong exposure to employee benefits, health, or life insurance analytics.
- Strong financial, actuarial, or underwriting knowledge with the ability to interpret and apply complex data models.
- Proven leadership experience (10+ years preferred) managing distributed teams in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and insurance-related systems or proprietary platforms.
- Deep understanding of insurance products, coverage structures, and risk/financial analysis.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a remote and multi-office environment while managing competing priorities.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence decisions at both local and enterprise levels.
- Competitive annual salary range of $150,000 – $225,000.
