As an adjunct faculty member, you will deliver engaging, student-centered instruction to adult learners across associate, bachelor’s, and master’s programs. You will facilitate live and asynchronous learning experiences, foster meaningful academic discussions, and guide students through their coursework. Accountabilities
This role is responsible for delivering high-quality aviation instruction and supporting student success through effective teaching, communication, and academic engagement in an online learning environment.
- Deliver synchronous and asynchronous online instruction for aviation courses in alignment with academic standards and program requirements.
- Create a student-centered learning environment that supports engagement, participation, and academic achievement.
- Facilitate weekly discussions, message boards, and interactive learning activities to encourage critical thinking and collaboration.
- Maintain scheduled virtual office hours and provide timely responses to student, administrative, and institutional communications.
- Track, evaluate, and report student progress, ensuring accurate and timely submission of grades and academic records.
- Enforce academic policies, including student conduct and institutional guidelines, in accordance with university standards.
- Partner with academic advisors and support services to address student needs and ensure appropriate accommodations.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and curriculum-related activities as required.
- Stay current with aviation industry trends, instructional methods, and educational technologies relevant to the program.
- Master’s degree in Aviation or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Professional experience in aviation operations, flight, or aviation management.
- Prior experience in higher education teaching (online instruction preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
- Proficiency with digital learning tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and learning management systems (Brightspace preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including grading, instruction, and student support within academic timelines.
