This senior-level role sits at the core of commercial credit portfolio management, combining credit expertise, client engagement, and leadership responsibilities. You will oversee a portfolio of large commercial loans, ensuring strong asset quality, profitability, and alignment with organizational risk appetite. The position plays a key role in shaping credit decisions through detailed financial analysis, underwriting support, and structured recommendations. You will act as a trusted advisor to lenders and clients, contributing to relationship management and deal execution. Accountabilities:
In this role, you will manage the performance, risk, and growth of a commercial loan portfolio while supporting credit decisions and client engagement activities. You will also contribute to team development and ensure strong credit discipline across processes.
- Lead end-to-end management of a commercial loan portfolio, including annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and collateral analysis
- Oversee credit underwriting activities, including preparation of credit memos, financial spreads, and supporting documentation
- Participate in client meetings, underwriting discussions, credit presentations, and loan closings
- Identify, assess, and mitigate credit risks through detailed financial and qualitative analysis
- Review and support loan documentation, including commitment letters and related legal materials
- Collaborate with senior leadership to maintain appropriate portfolio risk levels and compliance with credit policies
- Support cross-sell and business development initiatives alongside relationship managers and lenders
- Mentor and guide credit analysts, portfolio managers, and other junior team members
- 7–10 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation standards
- Proven ability to analyze complex financial statements, tax returns, and credit risk profiles
- Experience preparing credit memos, underwriting packages, and portfolio reporting materials
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for client and stakeholder interaction
- High proficiency with internal banking systems and reporting tools
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
