This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of business development, strategic partnerships, and media monetization within a fast-growing sports media environment. The role is responsible for shaping and expanding high-value commercial partnerships that drive long-term revenue growth and market impact. You will operate in a highly collaborative, cross-functional setting, working closely with senior stakeholders across business, product, legal, finance, and marketing teams. The position demands strong commercial acumen, a strategic mindset, and the ability to execute complex deals in a fast-paced, competitive industry. You will play a key role in expanding league and rights-holder relationships while identifying new revenue opportunities. This is a remote-based position within the United States, offering exposure to large-scale strategic initiatives across the sports media ecosystem.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives, focusing on high-impact partnerships and long-term revenue growth.
- Secure, structure, and manage strategic, revenue-generating partnerships, ensuring long-term value creation and alignment with business objectives
- Support the expansion and performance of league and rights-holder partnership portfolios, ensuring successful execution and optimization of deals
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement business development strategy and growth priorities
- Act as a key liaison across overlapping sales and partnership stakeholders, ensuring alignment and seamless execution
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities through creative and strategic thinking
- Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, product, editorial, design, and marketing teams to ensure operational excellence
- Build and manage detailed project plans to support successful delivery of partnership initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
- 8+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or related commercial roles within media or advertising environments
- Proven experience working with rights holders, sports leagues, or similar ecosystem partners
- Strong track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-value strategic deals
- Experience in advertising sales or media monetization is highly desirable
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects forward proactively
- Strong strategic and creative thinking skills with the ability to develop innovative partnership solutions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, distributed, and cross-functional environment
- Annual base salary range: $130,000 – $145,000 USD
- Eligibility for variable compensation, including annual bonus and restricted stock (based on role and performance)
