Full Stack Engineer (PHP/Python)

DevriX is an engineering-first revenue operations company founded in 2010 in Bulgaria, with deep roots in scalability, performance, stability, and systems architecture for mid-market companies (traditionally on top of PHP/WordPress stacks).

Our RevOps retainers include fractional solutions across systems and web development, data engineering, marketing technologies, and AI augmentation (automation and agentic systems).

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with strong PHP and Python skills who can work across traditional web development and modern cloud infrastructure. You'll build client-facing applications while bridging web platforms with data engineering work.

This is a full-time on-site role at our Sofia, Bulgaria office.

(Note: other engineering roles with different seniority exist based on experience and leadership capabilities).

The Day-to-Day

• Scale, extend, and build full-stack web applications for enterprise clients (PHP/WordPress primary stack)
• Develop APIs and integrations connecting web platforms to data warehouses, CRM systems, and third-party services
• Work with both relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and cloud data platforms (BigQuery)
• Create admin panels, dashboards, and reporting interfaces for data-driven applications
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices for client applications
• Deploy and maintain applications on cloud infrastructure (AWS primary, with some Google Cloud Platform work, with our internal tools and monitoring systems on Digital Ocean)
• Write Python scripts for data processing, automation, and pipeline work
• Collaborate with data engineers to build end-to-end solutions from web apps through data pipelines
• Support platforms generating millions of daily events and hundreds of millions of monthly users
• Work with JavaScript for frontend components and interactivity

Role Requirements

• Strong PHP skills - you're comfortable with WordPress, modern PHP frameworks, or custom PHP applications
• Python proficiency - you can write scripts for data processing, automation, and backend services
• SQL proficiency - complex queries, database design, optimization
• JavaScript/Frontend - comfortable with vanilla JS and building interactive interfaces (React-based stacks are a plus, but not a day-to-day requirement)
• RESTful API design - you've built and consumed APIs
• Git workflows - branching, pull requests, code reviews
• Understanding of web security basics - authentication, authorization, input validation
• Problem-solving mindset - you debug systematically and think about edge cases
• Ownership mentality - you care about code quality and follow through on your work
• Communication skills - you can explain technical decisions to clients and non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-Have

• AWS experience - EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or other AWS services
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Deep experience with WordPress - themes, plugins, or core WordPress development
• Understanding of data pipelines or ETL/ELT concepts
• Docker or containerization experience
• Infrastructure as Code - Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines - GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins
• Familiarity with BigQuery or cloud data warehouses
• Understanding of data modeling for analytics
• Experience with event-driven architectures or message queues
• Open Source contributions - WordPress, PHP, Python, or other communities
• Exposure to serverless functions (Lambda, Cloud Functions)
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)

You're a versatile engineer comfortable working across the stack - from PHP/WordPress applications to Python data processing to cloud infrastructure. You can build web applications, write APIs, process data, and deploy to AWS.
