Senior Business Applications Security Engineer

In this role, you will take ownership of securing a complex ecosystem of business applications across a global organization, transforming application security from a reactive function into a strategic, proactive capability. You will work across SaaS, cloud, and internal enterprise tools to define security standards, improve identity and access management, and strengthen overall application resilience. This is a high-impact position where you will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Engineering, Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing to embed security into every stage of the application lifecycle. You will play a key role in designing scalable access models, automating identity workflows, and improving governance across hundreds of applications. The environment is fast-moving, cross-functional, and highly collaborative, with strong exposure to modern identity platforms and enterprise SaaS ecosystems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building security programs from the ground up while influencing organizational change at scale.

Accountabilities

You will be responsible for designing and leading a comprehensive business applications security program, ensuring strong identity, access, and integration security across a large and diverse application landscape while improving governance, automation, and compliance.

• Design and implement a scalable business applications security program across a large SaaS and enterprise application ecosystem
• Own and improve security posture across 200+ business applications, including SaaS, cloud, and on-premise tools
• Define security standards for business applications and ensure consistent enforcement across all systems
• Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC) frameworks where applicable
• Lead application onboarding processes, including requirements gathering, access design, and security validation
• Manage identity lifecycle workflows, including automated provisioning and deprovisioning of user access
• Oversee integrations and API-based connections between enterprise business applications
• Provide escalation support for access, identity, and role-related issues across systems
• Identify and drive automation opportunities to improve security workflows and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements while supporting audits and governance

Requirements

You bring deep expertise in application security, identity management, and enterprise SaaS ecosystems, along with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive change across complex organizations.

• 8+ years of experience in application security, identity security, or related enterprise security roles
• Strong experience with identity and access management platforms such as Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365
• Hands-on experience with authentication and authorization protocols including SAML, OAuth, and SCIM
• Experience designing and managing RBAC models and enterprise access governance frameworks
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Okta Workflows or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of SaaS application ecosystems and integration management
• Ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment across teams
• Strong communication, change management, and stakeholder management skills
• Certifications such as CISSP are a plus
• Experience improving processes, driving automation, and mentoring junior team members is highly desirable
