Senior Backend Engineer
Indexed description
We’re building a fundamentally different approach to secure remote access - combining purpose-built hardware, robust software and a shift in how trust is enforced.
Imagine remote connectivity with no exposed network, fully malware-repellant, and inherently data-leak proof.
It sounds bold, we know. That’s exactly the point.
Who We Are
Zeroport is tackling the hardest problem in secure network access - the legacy reliance on IP connectivity. We’ve designed and built a hardware-enforced solution that enables true non-IP remote access for the first time.
We’re a focused and technical R&D team with a strong builder mentality, moving fast to change the way companies connect to the world.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing software team.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership — where you'll design and build backend systems that sit at the core of our secure remote access platform.
If you enjoy solving hard backend problems, care deeply about correctness and performance, and like working across boundaries — this is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components
- Build secure, scalable, and production-ready systems
- Contribute to architecture decisions, deployment flows, and observability
- Collaborate with other engineers (full stack, embedded, hardware) to deliver end-to-end features
- Optimize performance and troubleshoot real-world edge cases
- Bring backend expertise to a multidisciplinary team solving infrastructure-level problems
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience
- Deep knowledge of Python
- Strong system design skills: thinking about scale, reliability, performance
- Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with security best practices - from auth flows to data protection
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration (Docker, k8s)
- Ability to navigate complexity and make clear engineering trade-offs
- Experience in networking or cybersecurity domains
- Exposure to hardware-involved systems or edge computing
- Interest in infrastructure-as-code and zero-trust architecture
- Be part of designing innovative solutions for some of the toughest challenges in network security
- Flexible work setup, minimal bureaucracy
- Real ownership and impact from day one
- A collaborative and innovative work culture
- Competitive salary and benefits
