Aircraft Electrical System Technician

The items mentioned below provide a synopsis of many of the duties and responsibilities an employee would be trained to perform:
- This position is 100% travel
- Perform on-aircraft modifications, Time-Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), component and harness installation/removal, operational checkouts, and prototype and trial vehicle installations (TVI)
- Participate in test or project events as assigned by Project Manager
- Follow engineering guidance, technical orders, and drawings
- Perform moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment (OJT)
- Perform and inspect wire terminations, wire harness assembly, harness routing, and component installation/removal (OJT)
- Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to customer product specifications (OJT)
- Assemble, test, and/or solders as required per customer and/or industry standards (OJT)
- Perform electrical, operational, and functional checkout of aircraft components and systems (OJT)
- Document records identifying compliance with assigned tasks regarding wire harness manufacturing (OJT)
- Establish, organize & maintain detailed inventory of government, customer and KIHOMAC property (OJT)
- Train and assist other technicians on techniques and procedures (OJT)
- Modify aircraft and equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as per predetermined processes (OJT)
- Maintain high ethical/professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times (OJT)
- Participate in test or project events as assigned
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free/clean work area
- Work unsupervised at times
- Report status and results
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma required
- Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification desired
- 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area required
- US Military Aircraft Maintenance and/or wiring experience required
- Knowledgeable on wiring diagrams/schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints
- Able to use various hand tools, crimping tools, soldering equipment, and machinery
- Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits required
- Wire Termination experience desired
- Knowledge of cable assembly procedures desired
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively required
- Basic knowledge or understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 desired
- Capable of standing for long periods of time
- Able to work cross functionally in other areas as needed
- Frequent and extended duration travel required
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking, able to bend, stretch, work with hands, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to wear required safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirator as needed
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds
